Purdue's robot "Lightning Box" arrives at Food Bayana in Malaysia

　　The newly opened Food Bayana Restaurant in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia, recently announced a partnership with Purdue Robotics and Penang Jekoda (hereinafter "Pentamaster") to drive the digital transformation of the restaurant. This collaboration marks an important step in Food Bayana's integration of automated technology with the gastronomic experience, aiming to provide customers with an unprecedented dining experience.

　　As Malaysia's first fully automated Food and beverage center, Food Bayana brings together 31 food and beverage brands in a two-storey design with a total area of more than 2,000 square meters. With extensive automation experience, Pentamaster, a leading global provider of automated manufacturing and technology solutions, worked closely with Purdue Robotics to design and implement an advanced smart distribution solution for Food Bayana.

　　Through the form of zoning management, Food Bayana divides the two floors into multiple distribution areas, and uses 30 Purdue distribution robots "Lightning boxes" with real-time order tracking, accurate navigation and 3D obstacle avoidance functions to be distributed in each distribution area to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of food delivery.

　　After placing an order on the first floor, customers can receive order status updates via their smartphones. The Lightning Box building delivery robot then delivers meals from the first floor to the pick-up area on the second floor, where customers pick up their meals from heated cabinets with little direct interaction with the robot. This process not only improves service efficiency and reduces human contact, but also ensures that meals are hot and fresh, increasing customer satisfaction and meeting the demanding demands of Penang's fast-paced industrial zone.

　　The division of labor between robots is clear and the operation is coordinated. With intelligent robots taking on repetitive and tedious tasks, Food Bayana effectively reduces labor costs, allowing employees to focus on providing more value-added services. At the same time, the ultraviolet disinfection cabinet equipped with the "lightning box" further ensures the hygiene of the dining environment, so that customers can eat more at ease.
